Ancient style Rosette with Large Moonstone and Garnets

  • March 5, 2012 10:18 AM

I handcrafted this large  pendant necklace for fun, after viewing the images in a book about European jewelry from about the 15th and 16th centuries, and I suddenly felt the urge to try doing something, in my own version, and give it a somewhat more modern appearance. I hope I succeeded.

Riorita Silver Moonstone and Garnet pendant necklace

It is created of two flower shaped silver plates, one on top of the other, with a dividing space 0f 3mm between the lower and upper parts.  I soldered a cylinder of 1.2cm diameter through the two plates, to keep them together in their centers.

Around the Moonstone there are four small silver flowers with Cabochon Garnets on them.
I added a thick chain to the pendant.

Metal used: 925 Sterling Silver
Sizes:
The Base silver plate: 0.7mm thick Diam. 2″
The upper plate:  o.7mm thick Diam. 1.70″
Size of the Moonstone: 1.5 cm
Size of each garnet: 4mm each
Total length of the necklace: 60cm

Right now it is not in my Etsy shop.

Thank you for watching!
