Taking photographs of jewelry is not easy. In this case I have made numerous attemps to capture these earrings in a way that they will look just as they are – translucent, freeform, somewhat  bulky and natural. When I tried to photograph them  on a white backgraound – they  simply would not stay put! – they turned around, would not stay in one place, gave me a bad time!

Finally, I decided to “put them in their place” so to speak, took a beautiful peach and stuck them there to see if this would bring them back to order! I succeeded! ! I think….

This morning I looked at the photgraph with the peaches and thought to  myself – “this is not too bad, but I would prefer a more neutral backgraound”. I placed a wine glass on the table and began a new series of photographs. I do not know whether they are perfect, but at least customers can view most/all angles of the earrings:

The earrings shown here on the model can give you an idea of the proportions and look of the earrings. They were photographed  with a similar pair, with the same sizes, settings etc.

Finally – Would you like to know what has become of the peach after I finished taking photos? -  I ate it of course!!

  1. The earrings are beautiful!

Photographing my clay pieces is a challenge also, it’s so difficult to capture what they look like in person!

  2. The wine glass photo really shows them off well. You can tell how translucent they are.

Hi Trina, I know very well how difficult it is to capture one’s art work! Wish you success both in your photographs and sales!
