ADVA BRUNER
One of the shops that have interested me most is Adva Bruner’s shop of unique and outstanding clothes.
Adva was born in Tel-Aviv on October 9th 1974, she is a textile designer and has a great passion for colors ,textures and traditional crafts.
During one of many journeys across the globe , Adva found herself in a small Guatemalan village surrounded by beautiful Mayan women who taught her the secrets of their traditional weaving. That was the beginning of her romance with textile.
During her studies at the prestigious SHENKAR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & DESIGN , Adva mastered in knitting but experienced in many other techniques such as printing ,felting ,weaving and dyeing fabrics. Today, Adva herself is teaching knitting in SHENKAR. Ever since, and for the last 6 years, she has been designing & developing her own fabrics for herf her clothes and accessories under her brand name DUENDE.
Adva’s main inspiration comes from traveling and meeting interesting people as well as small miracles that wait along the way everyday, just before her eyes.
It is very important to her to make sure the raw materials she uses are produced by people who get fair employment conditions, such as she gives her own employees .
Adva’s goal is to deliver affordable , high quality women’s clothing. She tries to stand out, by creating very comfortable designs and by using soft fabrics which will make the women who wear them feel as if it is almost a part of their body.
