Clyde Keller - RFK Photographer

Clyde Keller – Photographer of the Kennedy Family

One of the great  things about Etsy is that it brings together people from every far corner of this world, and enable them to sell on the internet  the things they invent and create . You can  find renowned artists beside new talents. The same opportunity is granted to  all people to show their art. One of the wonderful things that happened to me in Etsy is discovering photographer  Clyde Keller there .

The reason I am moved about this, is the fact that many  years ago, when I was a teen ager, my parents had subscribed to the Newsweek weekly magazine where Mr. Keller had worked at the time. I remember going to the beach by the Sea of Galilee, where I grew up, and basking  in the sun while reading the Newsweek paper there. The Kennedy family, with John Kennedy as president,  were naturally the main subject TED KENNEDY Press Conference Klyde Keller Photo. I would follow everything said and done about them -  family events, birthday parties etc., followed by political actions, the things they had to say to the press, and the photographs! I  mostly loved the photographs!

One  stormy day on December 2008, I was staying home, trying to find unique Etsy shops to add to my new treasury. When I got to Clyde’s shop, it  had suddenly occurred to me that I was watching these  wonderful photographs from the past!
I was immediately swept with overwhelming nostalgia!  I believe that what had touched me then and what still moves me in these prints of his,  is very well described in the following words, which are cited in the opening page to Clyde’s shop, by photographer William Boling :

“Mr. Keller’s photographs document America at the very highest level of photographic arts. To be in the moment of the (Robert Kennnedy) Whistle Stop, through the lens of Mr. Keller is to connect with history in a beautiful way. ”

I agree with every word written by Mr. Boling, and would like to add:
These days, when the Paparazi invade every  privacy of famous and important people in order to satisfy some low instincts of the crowds, Clyde Kellers noble photography stands out  in its beauty of preserving the honor of mankind, and by being this kind of artist, he has definitely touched me!
