It has been long since I’ve visited my blog site, but here I am. Finally found the time. You know what they say - “if you do not have time, make time”,  so I found an hour or so to dedicate to some of my favorite Etsy items. So here we go:

This morning I decided to get up a little later. After all it is Saturday. Looked at the grey sky outside my window and said to myself :”Yes! This is a stay at home day” . Then, you know the procedure : I went to my computer to check if there were any purchases during the night,   then I fixed myself a nice huge cup of coffee , and while I was enjoying myself, I looked around me and thought :”Nice place I have here”… but I saw some dust here, and  a stain there,  and I do not know what happened  to me, but I got up all in a frenzy , grabbed a bunch of cleaning rags and detergents  and started cleaning, rubbing, dusting. ..Now as I finally sat down to rest, it all looks  so bright and fresh.  My small apartment smells like paradise (I guess no one knows how it smells there), so I can go and fix myself another cup of coffee, and add a nice piece of cake to it too!

Now as I entered the Etsy site I looked up the tag “Spring Cleaning” and - unbelievable .There were about 900 to match this tag. So I realized I was part of a spring cleaning community “so what’s new about that”?…

It seems that Winter has just given up to an early Spring.  It all began on Mid February .It seems that only yesterday,  the official winter season has begun here in the Middle East, and before I could feel the chilly cold winds I’ve known from all the former winters, having to choose which  heavy coat to wear, which scarf  to adapt to  my outfit, and so on, it has suddenly decided to change. Without  early notice, Spring has arrived. You know what I mean -  birds chirping  messages to each other, butterflies in the air, mosquitoes and lots of signs of Romance such as missing someone you used to love once…

Large Queensland Boulder Opal and Sterling Silver Necklace

I know, you’ll be thinking -  this is an Opal, and the stone of March is an Aquamarine?  Well - you are quite right. Only - this Opal stone has numerous hues in it, among them - a tiny bit of red, Ochre Yellow, sky blue and Aquamarine. So even though it is an Opal it is definitely a March stone!

Lately I have been drawn to spiral shaped items. I guess the spiral theme has been endlessly utilized through history  by artists, jewelry designers,  fashion designers, builders,etc. A classic shape which the human species never tire of.

Handmade Sterling silver hoops which I crafted from strips of sterling silver and adjusted them to one another with solder to create a light and every day unique pair of hoops. The effect is somewhat Organic and classic at the same time. Hope you agree.

An outstanding shop with beautiful organic plants

The  Spiral Aloe polyphilla  plant shown here , commonly known as Spiral Aloe,  was grown in an organic manner, made with the use of organic fertilizer and no chemicals! The result is amazing!

Makes me indulge in these nostalgic days when, as a teen ager, I proudly wore these  lovely handmade tie-dye T-shirts. We used to call them “Batik”  in this part of the world. The  collection of T-shirts displayed in this shop is amazing!

Where I found these beautiful handcrafted wooden shawl pin/hair stick, handcrafted from hardwood.

The pins are double sided and very elegant and fashionable! Very  delicate and well made!

About a year ago I met on Etsy, a wonderful photographer artist  named Sonja Reiter. Sonja called her Etsy shop “bluerider” after a famous painting by Kandinsky from an early period  of his career.

For the last 48 hours it has been raining here, in this dry part of the world.  The other night I was reclining on my sofa, comfortable  and easy, with my cat purring on my lap ,  the wind outside was howling and torrents of rain were pouring angrily , hammering on my windows  as if  demanding to be let into the house… but the harder the rain pounded - the happier I felt.  Every teardrop from heaven counts in my country!

While the rain was pouring outside, I was listening to Eric Clapton singing  “would you know my name - If I saw you in Heaven?”  which always makes my eyes kind of damp..

  The first item which made me laugh  is a print by DanaKomjaty “Art print “Black Birds Don’t Cry”

In which she  used mixed media including a vintage fabric, guoach paints and ink.

I have a tiny comment regarding black birds - perhaps they do not cry, but they definitely like to leave their gifts on my freshly hung washing! I’d prefer if they cried instead!

Exactly a week ago, something very wonderful has happened. My daughter gave birth to my first grandson! A real new born prince charming!

 Welcome to the world  little one!

I know – you will think to yourself – so what! Millions of babies are born every day!
Well, this is my first and I am very happy, and I have love and greetings in my heart to all the new grandmothers (and grandfathers) who’ve got a new grandchild on November 22nd 2009!  Viva and Hooray to all Grandparents!!!

I only wish that all these newborns, will never know hunger and pain or sicknes, war or terror and more of the horrible sicknesses in this world of ours!

May God read this prayer right off my heart with the hope he will grant it!

When I first saw the stone in the gem  shop I fell in love with it and bought it . The next day it was already set in a Sterling ring which I handcrafted for it.
