I’ve had this beautiful Koroit Opal stone in my collection of stones, for some time, and have decided to set it horizontally in a silver ring which I prepared for it in advance.
It is a freeform narrow Koroit Opal solid cabochon stone. It has beautiful opal-matrix patterns and opal filled seams.
The ring bears an official sterling silver stamp and my own signature.
This cabochon is extraordinarily shaped and is exceptionally unique .It comes from the Koroit opal mines in Queensland Australia.
The colors are brown horizontal strips with an astonishing ochre in the middle. There is a deep turquoise spray in it with gentle sparkles of red .Looks like a miniature modern painting!
Ring size : US 8 can be enlarged to 9
size of the bezeled stone: 21mm x 10mm x 5mm
width of the band:of the ring about 5mm

More opal rings handcrafted by riorita:
I handcrafted this large pendant necklace for fun, after viewing the images in a book about European jewelry from about the 15th and 16th centuries, and I suddenly felt the urge to try doing something, in my own version, and give it a somewhat more modern appearance. I hope I succeeded.
It is created of two flower shaped silver plates, one on top of the other, with a dividing space 0f 3mm between the lower and upper parts. I soldered a cylinder of 1.2cm diameter through the two plates, to keep them together in their centers.
Around the Moonstone there are four small silver flowers with Cabochon Garnets on them.
I added a thick chain to the pendant.
Metal used: 925 Sterling Silver
The Base silver plate: 0.7mm thick Diam. 2″
The upper plate: o.7mm thick Diam. 1.70″
Size of the Moonstone: 1.5 cm
Size of each garnet: 4mm each
Total length of the necklace: 60cm
Right now it is not in my Etsy shop.
